	5 Steps To Understanding God's Plan For The Ages... ... And Israel's Role In It (Reproduced with kind permission of UAFC in South Africa) STEP 1 - God Had A Plan For Israel From the beginning, way back in the book of Genesis, God made it clear that He had a plan and purpose for Israel. God said to Abraham, as recorded in Genesis Chapter 12, Verses 1-3, “. . . in thee and thy seed will all nations of the earth be blessed”. God said that He was going to use Israel to bless the world, and He entered into a covenant or Divine oath of promise with Abraham. Exodus 19:4-6 further tells us that God was to make a model spiritual nation of Israel, an example to the entire world, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation! Scripture Readings Genesis 17:1-7: 1 "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2 "And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 "And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 4 "As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 "Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 "And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. 7 "And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee." Genesis 26:3-5 3 "Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; 4 "And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 "Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws." Genesis 22:16 16 "And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: . . ."
